Itinerary
Day: 01 HOTEL CUSCO - HUMANTAY LAKE - SALKANTAY BASE CAMP (16KM, 8HRS)
At 4:30 am, our staff will pass by your hotel and pick you up and travel in our tourist transport to Mollepata, where we will have our first breakfast, then we will move to the start of the hike, where our staff will be waiting for us to get our equipment ready and start our first hike.
Our hike will be 3 hours passing through an ancient Inca aqueduct, which provides water to farmers, until we reach Soraypampa (3600 masl), here our chef will make us wait for a comforting lunch, then rest and continue our journey to the Laguna Humantay (4200 masl / 13779 ft), after the visit we will descend to Soraypampa, where we can rest in our campsites, our chef will offer us hot drinks and dinner.

Day: 02 SALKANTAY BASE CAMP -HAYRAJPUNKU - CHAULLAY (18KM, 9HRS)
Our chef, at dawn, will make us wait for some hot drinks or coffee to balance the cold, after the healthy breakfast prepared by the chef we will pack our luggage, to continue our hike to Salkantaypampa, and then arrive at the top of our journey, the Salkantay pass (4630 m / 15190 ft).
At the top we will rest contemplating the snowy Ausangate, and then begin our descent to Wayracmachay, (3800 m / 12467 ft), in our chef will make us wait for a delicious lunch, and then continue the last journey of the day about 2 hours to arrive at Chaullay (2770 m / 9087 ft), where we can rest in our camp and enjoy a refreshing shower.

Day: 03 CHAYLLAY - HYDROELECTRIC - AGUAS CALIENTES (16KM, 8HRS)
Our third day of trekking will be the most beautiful day of our Salkantay Trek 4 days to Machu Picchu, we will have 3 hours walk to Lucmabamba, (2000 m / 6600 ft), where our chef will surprise us with a special lunch, then we can visit a coffee farm, where we will learn about the process of planting and harvesting coffee.
After the visit, we will take our local transportation to Hidroeléctrica, from where we will start our last walk to Machu Picchu, we will walk for 3 hours along the train tracks to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), here we will stay in the selected hotel, after 2 nights of camping we will be able to rest in a comfortable bed.
After settling and take a refreshing bath, our guide will be waiting for us for dinner and give us the information for our big day, visit Machu Picchu!….

Day: 04 MACHU PICCHU (LOST CITY OF THE INCAS) 4 HRS.
At dawn, we will get ready to finish our Salkantay trek 4 days to Machu Picchu, with the visit of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
After breakfast, according to the time indicated by our guide, we will go to the bus station to aboard and travel for about 40 minutes by the Hiram Bingham road to the gate of Machu Picchu, which together with our guide will make the entrance to visit the archaeological park.
From the first sections we will be able to observe each of the magical places of Machu Picchu accompanied by our guide, who will explain the most important facts of each sector, we will have the option to reach the most important point of Machu Picchu, the Guardian’s House from where we can get the best view of the Inca citadel and take the famous panoramic photo.
Then we will go down to the lower part of Machu Picchu, where we will see the Tower, the 3 windows, the stone quarry and the ceremonial square and according to the established hours the Intihuatana or the temple of the Condor.
After approximately 3 hours of visit, we will return to Machu Picchu Pueblo to rest and have lunch, and be at the train station at the appointed time to return to Ollantaytambo, from Ollantaytambo our staff will transfer us back to Cusco city.
