The Ausangate trek 5 days, is one of the most impressive projects in Peru for being located above 4000 meters above sea level and for hosting a unique scenic and natural tourist circuit in Peru formed by the snowy Ausangate, a gigantic massif of approximately 100 km that in Inca times was considered as an Apu (god) to which they rendered offerings and worship.

Itinerary

Day: 01 CUSCO - OCONGATE - TINKI - UPIS

Very early at 5:30 am, our staff will pick up you from your hotel and in our private transportation we will go to the south of Cusco, by the road to Puerto Maldonado, after 3 hours of travel, we will arrive to our first destination Tinki, where we can take our breakfast and get our equipment ready to start our great trek for Ausangate Trek 5 days.

Together with our team, riders and horses we will begin the 3 hour trek to the place where our chef will be waiting for us to have lunch, and then continue for about 2 hours to Upis, where we will have our first camp, and we can enjoy a refreshing bath in its thermal medicinal waters.

Day: 02 ARAPA PASS - YANACOCHA - PUCACOCHA LAKE.

Very early we will wake up with a hot drink and then take our healthy breakfast, we will begin a journey that will take us up to 4850 masl / 15912 ft, known as the Arapa Pass, from here we can observe an impressive landscape surrounded by imposing snow-capped mountains and mountain ranges, and a beautiful valley where alpacas and llamas graze.

After a short rest in the Arapa Pass we will begin the descent to the Pucacocha lagoon where a comforting lunch awaits us, after a short rest and a delicious lunch we will continue our hike to the Pucacocha Pass (5000 masl), and then descend for about 2 hours to the community of Ananta, here we will spend our second camp, and after our dinner we will be able to rest.

Day: 03 AUSANGATE COCHA - PALOMANI PASS - HUCHUY PHINAYA.

Very early, at 5:00 am, we will have a hot coca tea to warm up the cold morning, then we will have our healthy breakfast and we will pack for our third day trekking in Ausangate.

We will start with an ascent of 3 hours to reach the Apuchata Pass (4900 masl / 16076 ft), after a break we will begin the descent of an hour and a half until we reach the Ausangate Lake, where a delicious lunch awaits us, after lunch we will continue with the ascent to reach the Palomani Pass (5100 masl / 16732 ft)

We will continue with our ascent to the community of Huchuy Phinaya, where our tents will be installed for the night and where our dinner prepared by our chef awaits us with hot drinks.

Day: 04 HUCHUY PHINAYA - JAMPA PASS - COMERCOCHA LAKE - PACCHANTA.

As usual we will wake up very early to have our healthy breakfast and continue our hike to the highest trail of our Ausangate Trek 5 days, the Palomani Pass (5300 masl), a place surrounded by mountains and snowy peaks, after about 3 hours of walking we will be able to observe the Qomercocha Lake, where our chef will make us wait for a delicious lunch.

We will continue our hike for about 2 hours more until we reach the community of Pacchanta (4000 m / 13000 ft), a typical Andean village, here we can install our last night camp and we can also take advantage to take a refreshing bath in their thermal medicinal water, dinner and night in camp.

Day: 05 PACCHANTA - TINKI - OCONGATE - CUSCO.

After our last night of camping, where we leave behind the cold nights and long walks, today we will make the last sacrifice, after breakfast offered by our chef, we will prepare the equipment to be able to make the trek to Tinki, from where we can board our transport to the city of Cusco.
