Itinerary

Day: 01 CUSCO - TINQUI - PACCHANTA

We will start with the pick up from your hotel at 4:30 am, then we will go to Cusco – Puerto Maldonado Highway, arriving at Urcos town, we will make a short stop to take some pictures, then continue the journey passing the towns of Cattca, Ocongate, where we can appreciate the spectacular views of the Andean region, After 3 hours of travel we will arrive to the village of Tinqui (3800 m / 12464 ft), where we will have lunch and start our first hike to Pacchanta (4100 m / 13448 ft), where we will have our first camp and enjoy its thermal medicinal waters and appreciate the sunset and a night full of stars.

Day: 02 PACCHANTA - QOMERQOCHA LAKE - JAMPA PAMPA

After a day of rest and a refreshing bath in the hot springs of Pacchanta, we will start the day with an Andean breakfast, and then start the hike through the valley of Pacchanta, until we reach the circuit of the 7 lakes, we will visit the Qomercocha Lake (green lagoon), where our cook will make us wait for a delicious lunch, enjoying beautiful landscapes and snow-capped mountains like Ausangate, Santa Catalina, Maria Huamantiqlla, Pucapunta and Colquecruz.

After comforting with a delicious lunch we will continue our 3 hour hike until we will arrive to the Abra de Q’ampa (Jampa) (5800m / 16400 ft), from here we will begin the descent to the lagoons of Ticllaqocha, surrounded by small lagoons of Turquoise color, after 2 more hours of walking we will arrive to Jampa Pampa, place where our second camp, rest and dinner will be waiting for us.

Day: 03 JAMPA PAMPA - QUILLATA

At dawn we will have a hot drink, then enjoy breakfast prepared by our chef, we will begin our hike to Yanacocha, (black lagoon), here we can appreciate a soil of volcanic origin that has a dark red and black color, continuing the hike we will reach the pass of the Yanacocha Mountain (5050 m / 15564 ft), from here we can be amazed by a beautiful valley, surrounded by a mountain range and the presence of llamas and alpacas.

Continuing our hike, we will make the ascent for 2 hours to the mountain pass, Huayna Ausangate (5100m / 16732 ft), then continue to the village of Quillata, from where we will observe the snow-capped mountains of Ausangate and Huayna Ausangate, we will also see the Condor Pass our next destination, after one more hour of walking we will arrive to our camp at the Ausangate Base.

Day: 04 QUILLATA - CONDOR PASS - MOMORANI

Our fourth day of Ausangate Trek 6 days, continues with 2 hours of gradual ascent through the valley that leads us to the Condor Pass (5200 m / 17056 ft), the highest point of our walk through Ausangate, from where we can see a whole landscape surrounded by mountains and lakes, with luck we can see the vicuñas, and among the most important the Sibinacocha Lagoon, without doubt this will be the hardest day of all our treks.

Continuing the journey we will enjoy a spectacular view of the Vilcanota mountain range and the ring of snow-capped peaks of the Ausangate region, in the distance we will observe the Sibinacocha Lagoon, one of the richest in biodiversity. Arriving at Mormorani we will set up our camp and rest.

Day: 05 MOMORANI - SIBINACOCHA LAKE - CCASCANA

We will start our fifth day of Ausangate Trek 6 days, where we will begin the hike along the borders of the Sibinacocha Lake, until we reach our next destination, the Yayamari Community, and the lake of the same name that is located at 5500 m / 18040 ft, continuing our hike we will cross an extensive pampa where llamas, alpacas and vicuñas graze, until we reach the CCascana pass (5000 m / 16400 ft), where we will visit the Ccascana Lake. It is surrounded by snow-capped peaks among the most important Montura and Chumpi, inhabited by small communities.

Here we can see Huallatas or Andean Geese and even Flamingos.
In Ccascana we can take a rest after a long hike, where our staff will make us wait for our camps with a delicious dinner.

Day: 06 CCASCANA - PHINAYA - CUSCO

At the end of our 4 day Ausangate Trek, we will leave behind our campsite of Ccascana, to make the 3 hour trek to Phinaya, a small community, where only horses and bicycles pass through. After a well deserved lunch prepared by our chef. We will take our transportation back to Cusco city, where we will arrive at night.
